Mayfield to replace Green in No.66

10/22/2007 - Kannapolis, NC (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Jeremy Mayfield will replace Jeff Green for the remainder of the 2007 Nextel Cup season in the No.66 Haas CNC Racing Chevrolet.

"We are thrilled to have Jeremy," said Haas CNC Racing GM Joe Custer. "He has been in the Chase two of the last four years and that was a big factor in our decision. We very excited."

Mayfield will likely team with newly signed Scott Riggs in 2008, but no announcement was made for next year driver lineup.

Driving a Toyota for Bill Davis Racing, Mayfield made 13 starts, but failed to crack the top-20. His best finish was a 22nd at the Kansas Speedway. He made the "Chase" in both 2004 and 2005 winning one race in each season.

Green started all 32 races this season in the No.66 Best Buy Chevrolet, but could earn just three top-10s.

Mayfield's first race for his new team will be this week in Atlanta.
